AppleScript Adium/MythTV OSD notification

On Linux platforms you can send notifications MythTV frontends by using the mythtv-osd tool, but this isn’t available on OSX. MythTV’s OSD receives XML notifications over a UDP port, and its really, really easy to access this from the shell. You basically need to send these XML files to the UDP port your frontend is on. E.g.


sed 's/%scroll_text%/my message/' < scroll-osd.xml > /dev/udp/192.168.0.1/6948

I fail to understand diet drinks.
